Series recommendation - Legion

After a long day, I relax watching series. I usually like distopic adventures such as "The Handmaid's tale" or "Altered Carbon". Lately, I've been watching Legion, which I love for various reasons.

The story is based on the X-Men comics and based in the Legion character of Marvel Comics. David was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age and has been a patient in various psychiatric hospitals since. After meting Sidney, he is confronted with the possibility that there may be more to him than mental illness. Hunted by the government agency, he is saved by a group of mutants at a facility called Summerland, who explain that he is also a mutant. With their help, David eventually discovers that his mind is infected by a parasite.

The series has been awarded with several prizes, both to cast and effects. The cared eclectic touch of the series is perfectly controlled, from the lighting to the clothing. It doesn't follow a clear time line, characters jump from one place to another giving altogether the feeling of completely living int he mind of the sick person that portraits David. An episode can start in the present, jump to the past through an Hindi dance and finish in the astral plane in the future. I admire how it's filmed, the composition of the scenes and the way you slowly discover every detail. Certainly, you have to be very focused watching it, every detail maters and even a figure in the background can be key for later understanding something else.

Reading about Legion, I discovered that the series references several horror movies, which I find fascinating. The third season is set to premiere on June 24, 2019, and will serve as the final season of the series. I can't wait for it to get aired, even if I'ma little bit disappointed for it being the last season.
